Blissfully located in the Stour Valley on the Suffolk/Essex border and just one hour’s drive from the M25, Huntsman's Cottage is an exceptional country house ideal for a country holiday or weekend away. Located on a quiet country lane a quarter of a mile outside the pretty village of Foxearth, the house is surrounded by fully landscaped gardens with far reaching views across its own meadow to open countryside.
The 6000 sq ft house has been immaculately restored by its current owners and is designed for those people who want to escape to the country, stay in a period home but still enjoy all of the comforts of 21st century life. The accommodation includes three big reception rooms (two with log burners), dining room with 14’ table and seating up to 16, large farmhouse kitchen with an Aga, separate electric oven and large American fridge freezer and ice maker, breakfast room seating up to eight, six bedrooms including four double bedrooms with luxury en suite bathrooms, a wet room, an attic bedroom with four single beds and a small downstairs bedroom with en suite loo and sink. The house also has a boot room, boiler room and a courtyard for secure parking. Other facilities include WiFi, Plasma screens, Sky television and DVD players in the receptions rooms and main bedrooms, high chair, cot, fine bed linens and towels.
Comfortably sleeping 11 people (maximum capacity 13) Huntsman’s Cottage welcomes children, well behaved dogs and smokers – but we do take a deposit for damages.
The world famous villages of Long Melford (3 miles) and Lavenham (7 miles) offer great shopping, eating and sight-seeing, whilst the market town of Sudbury (5 miles) has three major supermarkets including a large Waitrose and a twice weekly market. Bury St Edmunds lies 15 miles to the north, with all of the usual shops and facilities of a major town. Huntsmans Cottage is one hour’s drive from the junction of the M25 and M11 and one hour forty-five minutes drive from Central London. |
